Platform Year Seven
Wondering what a "virtual run" is, and how they work? Let us explain!
"He was about to go home, about to return to the place where he had had a family."
Potterhead Running Club is pleased to present the sixth and final event of the 2020 season:
Platform Year Seven!
We're fortunate to have our friends at Ragnar Events as co-sponsor for the Platform event again! Your registration includes this beautiful 3" medal featuring a rather unusual take on our beloved steam engine representation, and a mysterious design on the back that's unique to the final year of the series. As with every PHRC medal, all registrants also receive the beautiful custom sublimated ribbon, and the always-popular personalized digital bib!
"If you read this, Harry, we’re all behind you!"
We are a widespread and wonderful family. As long as these walls stand, we will repeat again and again: all are welcome in this castle. All are welcome, seen, respected, loved, and encouraged to love themselves.
Many in the world around us -- in our towns, workplaces, and schools -- are not given the opportunity nor the encouragement to live their lives fully and as they want to. Such barriers rob people of their right to self-identify and self-express, and often impede their access to education, employment, housing, voting, and other basic rights.
Our charity partner for the next PHRC event is Trans Lifeline!
Trans Lifeline is a trans-led organization that connects trans people to the community, support, and resources they need to survive and thrive.
Through proceeds from this event, Trans Lifeline will further their work in two critical areas: maintaining and staffing the Hotline that connects trans and questioning callers with trained trans operators; and providing microgrants to trans people for legal name changes and updated government identification documents.
True magic is finding your way back home.
For seven years, journeys to the Castle were adventures in themselves, with unexpected turns, dangers and joys, risks and rewards. But as Harry knew, the school was 'the first and best home he had known', and therein lay the true magic. Celebrate the magical journey with us, through the Platform Year Seven event shirt!
Available in your house colors(!!!) and in multiple fabrics and styles from tees, to tanks, to hoodies, proceeds will also support Trans Lifeline!
"The last trace of steam evaporated in the autumn air. The train rounded a corner. Harry’s hand was still raised in farewell."
Remember that this is a 'virtual' active event, so you can complete your nine and three-quarter kilometer distance however, wherever and whenever you want! How? You can walk, run, skip, dance, or saunter. Where? You can do it around your neighborhood, on the treadmill, or on your favorite trail. When? You can do it on a Monday night, a Thursday morning, or a Saturday afternoon. It's all up to you!
For some extra fun, the optional 'run day' for the Platform event is as it has always been: the First of September, back to school day! If you want to join thousands of others around the world completing some or all of the distance on that day, you'll be in some magical company!
Registration closes at midnight on Sunday, September 20. Medals will ship out the following week.
